Dedicated in thankful Memory
To my Grandfather
Mr. Isaiah Nash Sr. (1917 - 1999)

For always seeing Mama as the same woman for 61 years and until death did you part.
You have given me a goal to look forward to accomplishing.
Know that should I not reach the years of love you shared with Mama, it was not for a lack of diligence; I just ran out of time.
Acknowledgements

First and foremost, I am giving thanks to my HEAVENLY FATHER for blessing me with the ability to paint pictures with words. I thank YOU FATHER for bestowing me with a gift that no other can claim. I also thank YOU for the fortitude YOU have given to me mentally and the determination to seek completion in the process of writing this book.

I give appreciation to the two joys of my life, D'Ayre Cheyanne Brown and Jordan Kai Brown. My girls have given me inspiration just by the look in their eyes. They have given me the drive to be a finisher in life. Knowing that they depend on me and look up to me makes me strive to set an example that will be remembered. I love you both! Gabi, should you ever want to talk, know that I am available; I never stopped reaching out!

I give thanks to my Grandmother who helped me to understand the importance of initiative. She taught me through silent lessons to just go and do and others would follow by the example I set. She also taught me to stand up for myself at a very early age....after all, I would rather be beat by a kid in the streets than by Mama....(smiling) I would also like to thank my Mother, who through trials of her own, managed to continue to believe in me and who was strong enough to again be the woman that was inside of her. I thank you for the strong woman that you helped me to see through the years. I thank you for introducing me to the LORD and encouraging me to continue to study the WORD. Without you, I would not love the way that I do. What an example you set for me to follow. I love you beyond the meaning of love.

To my Father, my best friend, my homie....I love you. Thank you for helping me to understand the importance of having a peace of mind. You helped me to understand that a peace of mind is terribly under rated. I appreciate all the talks of respect and the many nights and days that you have been willing to offer your advice and just listen to me when I didn't have it all together. When I was wrong, you let me know and when you were wrong, you were never too much man to let me know that you were wrong also. You being my father has been a wonderful experience, but you being my friend, has been a priceless gift. I love you.

To my Brother, who has left this earth, Gerald Henderson, know that I have never stopped looking for your smile upon me. I know that you are looking and in some strange way, I know that you are proud of me. I have always admired you, though it is too late to tell you face to face, may our spirits meet and talk one day soon as I slumber. To my Aunt, Mary Crews, such a beautiful woman. Rest in Peace, you are in Paradise. Thank you for the many lessons as I grew in your presence. The many thumps on the head always pointed me in the right direction. I know in some way, you are yelling B-I-N-G-O in heaven, for that was your game. I love you!
