Tanya arrived home a little after eight and was instantly bombarded with phone calls from Traci who was calling to tell her that Onna was in the hospital. Traci left several numbers for Tanya to call her back at, but when she used them, she got no answers. She left messages on her cell and home phone telling her to call the minute she got the messages. Tanya sat on edge as she waited for Traci's call. Over the next hour, every time the phone rang Tanya answered it before the initial ring ended. Finally, her impatience paid off when she decided to call Traci's cell phone again.
"Traci," Tanya said fearfully, "what happened to Onna?"
Tanya listened to Traci tell her that Adreonna had been jumped by a
group of girls. She went on to say that the altercation occurred because
of the new guy that Onna was dating and the girls were upset with Onna
because she had begun to tell people that she was pregnant by him.
"What new guy is she dating and how long has she been pregnant?"
Tanya asked?
She listened to Traci tell her that Onna had been dating a high profile
rapper and had been pregnant about four months now.
"Where are you now?" Tanya asked. "I am on my way there."
Tanya hung up the phone and headed to Cedars Sinai Medical Center
to talk with Traci and check on the status of Onna. When she arrived,
she noticed a few people from the medical staff talking to Traci in the
emergency room lobby. As she approached, the conversation ended and
Traci called out in tears as she prepared to deliver the news.
"Tanya they said that she is in a coma and that she has some brain
damage."
"Oh my GOD," Tanya said as she and Traci embraced.
"Where is she
and how is the baby?"
"She is in ICU, they are not allowing anyone to see her yet and I just
told them that she was pregnant so they will get back to me with the
results."
"Well, we will just have to wait."
"I need to tell you something," Traci said as she attempted to dry her
eyes, "I called Xavia too so she may be coming down here."
"Just what I need right now, more bullshit."
"This is not about you and what you need, this is about Onna. You
and Xavia need to put your differences aside for a minute and help our
friend."
"You're right girl," Tanya said holding Traci, "I'm sorry she just
irritates me now."
"Well, you were with her." She smiled.
