Gwen laughed as she walked to the bowl to get her hair washed. While Derrick washed Gwen's hair, he heard Gigi talking in the back room.
"That boy is runnin' my nerves,"
she said,
"don't know if he going or if
he coming. How hard can it be to know if you like dick or pussy? It ain't
hard at all. Take me for example, I know I like dick,"
Gigi was cut off by
an outburst in the front of the shop.
"You would be lucky if you could get a dick," Derrick yelled.
Laughter filled the shop from the few clients that were there.
"There you go baby,"
Derrick said to Gwen poorly,
"Gon back there
and tell the next one to come on up here so I can wash hu hair."
Gwen stood up and told Derrick not to pay Gigi any mind, as she began
to walk toward the back of the shop.
"Gigi, why do you bother Derrick the way you do,"
Gwen asked as she
sat in her chair.
"Girl I'm just playing with that boy, he knows I love em'. Don't you
know I love you Derrick?"
"If you don't you better start," Derrick replied.
"I know you love him," Gwen continued, "but I think you hurt his
feelings."
"You think so huh?"
Gigi asked.
"Yes I do, maybe you should tell him you don't mean any harm."
"He ought to know that."
"Well what if he doesn't, then what?"
Gigi stood in silence as she did Gwen's hair and thought of Derrick's
feelings.
"Maybe I will talk to him," Gigi told Gwen.
"Good."
Gigi removed the smock that covered Gwen and told her it would be
sixty-five dollars. Gwen paid Gigi and thanked her for doing her hair.
"Anytime girl, do you want me to schedule you for next week?" Gigi
asked.
"No, I've been thinking about getting my hair braided, so I'll let you
know."
Gwen gathered her things and headed for the door.
"Oh,"
Gwen said as she turned around,
"Jes said that she would be
here at about eleven, but you know how late she can be."
"Her being late will fit right into my schedule,"
Gigi said as she
prepared for her next client.
