Not getting the hint that Gwen didn't want to give him any play, he asks Gwen why she had to run.
"Because its men like you who come with the broke lines that annoy
me. When will a man just come real, no lines, no games?"
"Oh, I understand now, you're that independent and self assured type
of woman huh?"
"That's the only way a woman should be. I don't see myself being any
other way. Sir, I do thank-you for your conversation, but you are putting
a stop to a well planned day, so if you don't mind, I will continue with my
plans."
Gwen turns, leaving the man standing at the entrance of the store.
That tribulation left Gwen with an aloud question to herself.
"Do all men have to approach a woman with a line from The Mack?"
Walking toward Gwen was the sales lady, a well-dressed young black
woman with braids. She had over heard Gwen conversing with herself
and decided to answer her question.
"Girl, I know what you're talking about, it's a shame when a man
can't approach a woman with real words."
Gwen was caught off guard with the woman's response.
"Excuse me," Gwen said surprisingly.
"Oh hi, I was just responding to what you had said about men
approaching a woman with lines instead of coming real."
"For you to respond, you must know what I'm talking about?"
"Yes I do."
Gwen introduced herself, and the two shook hands.
"Nice to meet you Gwen," C J said. "May I help you with anything?"
